Find the right size tent
Solo hikers usually want the lightest tent they can get; couples should size up for comfort; families want headroom over grams. Browse by size:
- 1-person tent hire — ultralight solo tents like the MSR Hubba NX and Elixir 1, built for wild camping and multi-day hikes.
- 2-person tent hire — our biggest range, from the 1.45kg Wild Country Halny Elite to the roomy MSR Elixir 2.
- 3-person tent hire — extra space for pairs who like room, or small groups splitting the carry.
- 4-person tent hire — campsite-friendly family tents like the Big Agnes Big House 4.
What's included with every tent
Every hire includes the complete tent system — inner, flysheet, poles, pegs and guylines — cleaned, dried and checked between every single hire. If a peg bends or a guyline frays on your trip, the small stuff's covered as standard; optional Accidental Damage Cover caps your liability at £50 for anything bigger.
Why rent a tent instead of buying?
A quality backpacking tent costs £300–£450 to buy — before you know whether you actually like sleeping on a hillside. Hiring one for 5 days costs £39. If you camp once or twice a year, want to try a tent before committing to it, or need kit for a one-off trip without the loft clutter afterwards, hiring wins on every count.

FAQ

See our FAQs
How much does it cost to hire a tent?
Most of our tents are £39 for a 5-day hire, with 4-season and family-size tents from £59. Longer hires — 10, 16 or 30 days — work out cheaper per day.
Can I return the tent wet or dirty?
Give it a shake-down and air it where you can, but don't stress about campsite mud — every tent is cleaned, dried and checked between hires.
How does delivery & return work?
Your hired kit is delivered on your chosen rental start date. After your trip, pack it up and drop it off at a Royal Mail parcel shop.
We will email you a pre-paid return QR code that you can use in store.
When will my tent arrive?
On your rental start date, via Royal Mail. We recommend setting your start date 1–2 days before you leave, just in case — though we've never delivered a hire late.
What happens if I damage the tent?
Tell us as soon as you can. Minor wear like a bent peg is covered as standard, and optional Accidental Damage Cover caps your liability at £50 for bigger accidents. No hidden fees, no surprises.
Is there a deposit?
No — just a temporary card hold when you book, released automatically once your tent is returned and checked.
